November 2007:

I've decided to reapply to college!
This time for fine art... which I should have chosen when I first applied to college 10 years ago... or maybe it's only after experiencing everything I have in the last 10 years that now I'm ready to take art more seriously... anyway, over the next year I'll be compiling a college application portfolio.


December 2007:

This portfolio is an exploration of numerous themes which fascinate me. I find each of these themes so engrossing for several reasons; aesthetically, symbolically, psychologically, culturally and historically.

Some of the following themes are based on relatively recent projects which I’ve had under development for a few months. Other themes are based on ideas that I’ve had and research that I’ve conducted over a longer time period of up to 2 years or more.


February 2008:

Possible Portfolio Themes:

INSPIRal - The Spiral Study (2yrs+)
An examination of examples of the geometric spiral in nature.

The Carina Constellation (-1yr)
A study based around what a friend represents and inspires in me.

A Symbolist’s Mandala (2yrs+)
Cultural and religious symbolism applied to my own beliefs.

PERSPIRINE - the PERpetual inSPIRation machINE (1yr+)
An analysis of the ebb and flow of inspiration.

Rhizomic-Plane Omega-Point (-1yr)
A graphic interpretation of two specific philosophical ideas.

The Dialogical Self (1yr+)
A visual exploration into this psychological theory of the self.

Deproganda to Reproganda * (-1yr)
Observation, interpretation, deconstruction, and final reconstruction of Propaganda/P.R. imagery and ideals.
